About Joel

In 2020 I was selling deep-fried peanuts for a friend of mine at local markets across the state. I looked around at my fellow vendors and saw that no one was selling hot sauces (a crime in the south!) so I researched. After a lot of trial and error, and far too many YouTube videos, in March of 2021, FAS Sauces was born.

Hi there! 👋🏻 My name is Farin and I am the FAS of FAS Sauces 💁🏼‍♀️, and I want to thank you for being interested in my dad’s creation! 🌶

I have been a daddy’s girl my entire life and he was just as much a huge fan of mine. When I was two, my father was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma (cancer affecting the bone marrow) the first thing he said to the doctor was: “How do we beat this? I’ve got a little girl that I have to watch grow up.” Since then, he has always done all he can to make sure the life-saving and very draining treatment was worth it. He drove me to and from the ice rink when I was competitively figure skating as a child, helped me navigate my learning disability to ensure I never fell behind my peers and consistently pushed me to face my fears. Even after my parent's divorce when I was eleven when my dad had to move to Florida from New Jersey, he always made sure I knew I was loved. “There are only two things I miss about New Jersey: you and the leaves changing. In that order.” When my dad told me about his hot sauce idea, my interest was piqued. We didn’t really have hot sauces (outside of some classic tabasco) but I figured if anyone could make it happen, it was my dad. And make it happen he did!

But these weren’t just any hot sauces, my dad made them sweet and sour and different! He challenged what the average person thought a hot sauce should be and created his own complex heats, selling them at the markets in his community. He started with three sauces and now he is up to twelve, and his ideas are still bubbling up. I hope you enjoy a little bit of my dad’s Florida sunshine and thank you from the bottom of my heart for visiting.

Our Values

We believe that you should enjoy your heat and only your heat: our formulas are free of GMOs, gluten and dairy free, and there are no refined sugars. We make all of our sauces in small batches with farm-fresh ingredients to ensure you always get the freshest sauce possible.

    Because I have no professional training (oops!), I can break the rules. Who says you can't put cucumber and cherries in hot sauce?

    As a regular at the Englewood and Venice farmers' markets, it is always a fun challenge to bring neighbor's sauce ideas to life.
